Sheriff Arrest Syracuse Man in Possession of Stolen Forged Check

Back on February 23rd, the Cortland County Sheriff responded to a report of a larceny that occurred at a business in the Town of Homer. Through the investigation sheriff deputies determined that 25 year old Braxton A. Bostic of Syracuse, NY was in possession of a stolen forged check that belonged to the business.


Bostic then attempted to cash the check at a bank in Cortlandville, but the bank refused to cash the check.

Recently, on October 4th, Bostic was arrested by the sheriff’s department on an unrelated arrest warrant. While he was already in custody by the sheriff’s department he was arrested again and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd, both felonies. He was also charged with Attempted Grand Larceny in the 4th, a misdemeanor.

He was remanded to the Cortland County Jail on $1000 dollars cash, $2,500 dollars bond, $5,000 dollars partial surety bond at 10%.
