In the early morning hours today, July 5th, around 5:40, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single motor vehicle crash in the area of Route 13 and Webb Road in Cortlandville.
Officers learned 59 year old Dean J. Babich of East Islip, was driving his vehicle drunk and then crashed. Babich was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office for the following charges: Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with .08 of One Percent or More of Alcohol, both Misdemeanors, Failure to use designated lane, drove across hazard markings, both violations.
He was processed and later issued appearance tickets and is due to appear in Cortlandville Town Court later this month.
