On Friday, March 31st, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of Route 13 and South Cortland Virgil Road in the Town of Cortlandville. No injuries were reported, according to the Sheriff.
As officers investigated the crash, they determined one of the operators of the vehicles involved, 31 Andrew S. Clay of Groton, was driving drunk.
Officers charged Clay with Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, Moved from lane unsafely, and drive across hazard markings, both infractions. Clay was taken to Cortland County Jail where he was processed, arraigned and then released on his own recognizance.
He is due to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court at a later date.
