The City of Cortland arrested a known sex offender last Thursday, May 25th, after he failed to maintain his obligations to register properly as a sex offender.
Daniel M. Gerhart of Cortland was taken in by police and charged with Sex Offender Failure to provide Verification Form 168-F/168t NYS Corrections Law, Sex Offender Failure to provide updated photo 168-F/168t NYS Corrections Law, and Sex Offender failure to provide change of address 168-f/168t NYS Corrections Law, all of which are Felonies.
He was arraigned and then sent to Cortland County Jail without bail. Gerhart is due to reappear in Court at a later date.
