Several Fire Departments Called to House Fire on Salt Road

Around 6:45 in the evening on Saturday, March 23rd, the McLean Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at a residence located on Salt Road. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed a working structure fire with flames coming out of a window of the residence.


Reports show the occupants of the building were able to safely evacuate the house. McLean Fire says the fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes from time of arrival. Several neighboring departments from both Tompkins and Cortland Counties responded for assistance with tanker trucks and manpower.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The occupants of the home are being assisted by the Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
