Several Departments Knock-Down Structure Fire at Fesko Dairy Farm

Spafford Fire Department says around 3:15 Sunday afternoon they were dispatched, along with neighboring fire departments, to a structure fire at Fesko Dairy. Reports indicated a barn was on fire within the large complex.

Arriving on scene, firefighters found a pump house next to the main dairy barn on fire. Spafford Fire says they deployed a handline and were able to knock down the majority of the fire. The fire was contained to the pump house only and did not extend to surrounding buildings.

Fesko Dairy expressed their sincere gratitude to neighboring farms for offers of help and to the first responders. According to Fesko Dairy, the building housed a piston pump that moved manure through a pipe to their manure pond.

Assisting Spafford on scene were Skaneateles, Amber, Mottville, and Homer Fire Departments. Otisco Fire provided standby coverage.
