On Tuesday, January 4th, around 9:20 in the morning a reported structure fire on Franklin road was called in to Sempronius Fire Department in the Town of Sempronius.
On arrival, firefighters found a working structure fire and a 2nd alarm was called with a tanker box being requested. The fire was worked on by several departments and was eventually knocked down. The house suffered extensive damage with several animals dying. Three dogs, though, were rescued from the house.
Assisting the Sempronius Fire Department was New Hope, West Niles, Moravia, Owasco, Locke, Flemming 1 and 2, Genoa, and Homer Fire Departments. 4-Town First Aid was also on scene of the structure fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
