Late Saturday morning, January 21st around 11:15am, the Cortlandville Fire Department responded to a serious vehicle accident on Route 13 near Country Max for a reported two vehicle crash.
The Homer Fire Department Fire Chief was in the area and was the first to arrive at the scene of the crash and reported to emergency dispatch of a juvenile unconscious trapped in the rear of the vehicle.
Cortlandville Fire was able to respond to the scene within 5 minutes of the initial call and immediately began to work to remove the rear passenger door to free the trapped patient. The door was removed by firefighters and freed the patient to a waiting ambulance by 11:24 am.
The patient was then transported to Upstate Hospital by TLC Ambulance. The other two occupants of the vehicle were transported to area hospitals. The condition of the patients are not known.
