Senator Webb to Host Community Health Resource Fair at County Office Building

New York State Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) will host a Community Health Resource Fair on Thursday, September 3, at the Cortland County Office Building Gymnasium, located at 60 Central Ave. in Cortland. The event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m.

The fair will bring together community health organizations to provide constituents with information, resources, and assistance. Cortland’s event is one of three health resource fairs Senator Webb will host next week across the 52nd Senate District.

“Accessible healthcare is essential to community well-being. I believe that healthcare is a human right, and we have many organizations across Senate District 52 that assist residents in accessing healthcare and provide resources in this space,” said Senator Lea Webb. “It’s important to me to do everything I can to make healthcare more approachable and accessible for my constituents, and sometimes the hardest part of that is just knowing what is available and how to access it. These health fairs bring different organizations to the same place and make it easier for people to get the care they need and deserve.”

Constituents attending the fair will be able to receive assistance and information on a variety of resources, including accessing unclaimed funds through the New York State Comptroller’s Office, foster parent training, reproductive care, and counseling.

Fifteen organizations are currently expected to participate, including Family Health Network (FHN).

“We are excited to participate in Senator Webb’s Health Fair and connect with members of the community. FHN is committed to improving access to quality, comprehensive healthcare, and this event provides a wonderful opportunity to share information about the services and resources available through our health centers,” said Kate O’Brien of Family Health Network. “We look forward to meeting constituents, answering questions about our programs, and providing educational materials and giveaways that promote health and wellness.”

Additional information about participating organizations can be found on Senator Webb’s Facebook page.
