Senator Webb Looking For Nominations of High School Students For NYS Senate Youth Leadership Awards

New York Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) says her office is now seeking nominations for the New York State Senate’s annual Youth Leadership Recognition Award program. According to Webb, the program honors outstanding students who will become future leaders.

Webb says both teachers and administrators from schools within the 52nd Senate District may nominate current sophomores, juniors and seniors who excel both academically and through leadership in extracurricular and volunteer activities. Only teachers and administrators may submit nominations. Students who are selected to receive the award will receive a congratulatory personalized certificate from Senator Webb.

“I’m proud to launch the Youth Leadership Recognition Award Program to celebrate the dedication, leadership, and service of students across Senate District 52,” said Senator Lea Webb. “So many young people are excelling not only in the classroom, but also through volunteerism and extracurricular involvement that strengthens their schools and communities. This program is one small way to recognize their hard work, uplift their achievements, and encourage them to continue leading with purpose.”

Nominations must be received by February 28th through the New York State Senate’s website, HERE. Anyone who has questions regarding the program is asked to email NYSenateServices@nysenate.gov or call 518-455-2558.
