Senator Webb Begins 2nd Annual Back to School Supply Drive for Teachers
New York Senator Lea Webb announced the launch of her second annual Back to School Supplies Drive for Teachers on Wednesday.
The supply drive began on Wednesday, August 14th and will run until Friday, September 6th. It focuses on the educators of New York state by providing them with necessary school supplies they and their students need for the upcoming academic year. New and unused notebooks, pens, #2 pencils, markers and more are needed.
“Teachers play an indispensable role in shaping the future of our community,” said Senator Lea Webb. “They work tirelessly to educate our children and often go above and beyond by personally filling resource gaps in their classrooms. The Back to School Supplies Drive for Teachers is a way for us all to contribute to their success.”
Webb also announced the 10 collection point locations across her district; this is where members of the community can contribute to the drive. In Cortland County, supplies can be delivered to the Homer Center for the Arts, Cortland Chamber of Commerce, and the Peck Memorial Library. For Tompkins County, the Lansing YMCA, Greater Ithaca Activities Center, Ulysses Philomathic Library, and Senator Webb’s Ithaca District Office are the four designated drop-off spots.
