Senator Webb Begins ‘24 Thanksgiving Day Celebration Program
New York State Senator Lea Webb (SD-52) has begun her 2024 Thanksgiving Day Celebration Program. The program is an initiative to engage young people within their communities through creative expression via submitting essays, artwork, or poetry that’ll reflect on the themes of gratitude and thanksgiving.
“As we enter the holiday season, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on the things we’re thankful for and the people who make a difference in our lives,” said Senator Webb. “Gratitude is a vital quality that fosters a sense of community, empathy, and appreciation. By encouraging students to explore these themes through art, writing, or poetry, we’re helping them engage in self-expression and allowing them to think deeply about what Thanksgiving truly represents. I’m excited to see the creativity and heartfelt reflections that will emerge from this program.”
Students in the 52nd Senate District who participate will receive a certificate of recognition by Senator Webb. The program will be open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. More information and where to submit work may be found HERE.
