Sempronius Man Arrested For DWI After Nearly Hitting Sheriff Deputy on East Lake Road
Just after 10pm on October 6th, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says 53 year old Lewis H. Rosekrans of Sempronius was arrested and charged for DWI, Aggravated DWI, and Failure to Keep Right following a traffic stop on East Lake Road in Sempronius.
Around 9:50 that evening, a deputy with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling northbound on East Lake Road in the Town of Sempronius when the Sheriff’s Office says a vehicle traveling southbound crossed over the yellow center line. The deputy was forced to swerve onto the shoulder of the roadway to avoid a collision.
During the traffic stop with Rosekrans, it was determined he was intoxicated. Rosekrans was taken to the Public Safety Building for processing where he also had a reported B.A.C. of .19%, over double the legal limit. Rosekrans is due in Owasco Town Court later this month.
