Second Arrested For Assault Back in February

The City of Cortland Police Department have made a second arrest in an assault investigation that took place in February of this year.


The assault reportedly took place at P&C Fresh at Riverside Plaza on February 25th. The victim reported to officers that two men had beaten him up by striking him several times. Officers also learned the victim was a witness in an ongoing investigation against one of the suspects back in January.

The first suspect, Kiersten G. Libbey was arrested the same day of the assault and was charged with Intimidating a Victim/Witness in the 2nd, a Felony, Assault in the 3rd, and Conspiracy in the 5th, both Misdemeanors.

On June 12th, the second suspect, identified as Tristen C. Libbey, was arrested. Tristen was arrested in Corning, NY on unrelated charges and was transported to Cortland for his outstanding warrants and arrest. He is charged with Intimidating a Victim/Witness in the 2nd, a Felony, Assault in the 3rd, and Conspiracy in the 5th, both Misdemeanors.

Cortland Police say Tristen was assisted by Kiersten in the assault of the victim and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest back in February. Tristen was arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail and is expected to appear in Cortland City Court today.
