Second Arrest in Two Days for DeRuyter Man

Local News on WXHC.com is brought to you by:

We told you Monday about Jason Gassner’s troubles with the sheriff. He was arrested Friday by Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies in Cortlandville for driving while on drugs.

Turns out Cortland Police had arrested the DeRuyter resident the day before (Thursday, March 24th) for DWI and unlicensed operation among other misdemeanors.

Officers say he didn’t stop at the intersection of Main and Tompkins street late Thursday night, and lied about his name.

Gassner, who is 37, was arraigned and released to Alternatives to Incarceration. That’s where the story picks up with his Friday arrest by sheriff’s deputies.

Gassner is due in Cortlandville Town Court Monday, and City Court on April 22.
