Emergency crews with the Marathon Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (MAVAC) were called to a head-on motor vehicle crash yesterday (November 3) afternoon on Route 221 in the Town of Lapeer.

State Police also responded to the scene, along with Cincinnatus Ambulance personnel, who provided standby EMS coverage while MAVAC was held up at the call.

Officials say a total of three patients were transported to two different hospitals, with injuries that have thankfully turned out to be minor.

MAVAC posted an update to its Facebook page, in a post that concluded with an important and familiar reminder:

“Seatbelts and airbags save lives!”
