Schumer Pushes For Legislation To Stop Airline Junk Fees

During one of the busiest Thanksgiving travel weeks on record, US Senator Chuck Schumer says many airlines are charging parents deceptive junk fees to sit with their kids when they travel.

This can lead to families getting split up on flights. Schumer, who has long been against the fees, is now pushing for legislation entitled the Families Fly Together Act. The measure would prohibit these deceptive fees on parents that many of the major airlines haven’t committed to removing. It would also finally create fee-free family seating to keep parents and kids together when they fly.

Schumer says airlines are making a stressful travel time even more turbulent by charging junk fees to parents who want to sit with their kids on flights. He adds that the Families Fly Together Act is the ticket to stopping airlines from charging these deceptive, unaffordable and unnecessary fees.
