As the summer season approaches its end local school districts are finishing up preparations for welcoming back students next week.
Reminder for motorists driving that speed limits near school zones will be enforced and to use extra caution for students and parents walking to and from school. A majority of school speed limits are in effect from 7am to 6pm school days.
For our area school districts not all are opening up the day after labor day. Below are the official dates of the first day of classes in districts in Cortland County.
Opening Tuesday, September 6th:
- Homer Central School District
- Marathon Central Schools
- McGraw School District
- Cincinnatus School District
- Truxton Academy Charter School
Opening Wednesday, September 7th:
- Cortland Enlarged City Schools*
*Tuesday September 6th is a professional development day for staff
