School Bus Crash Temporarily Closes River Street in Cortland Monday Morning
Captain for the City of Cortland Fire Department, Dustin Contri, tells X101 News Cortland Fire was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on River Street involving a school bus around 8 Monday morning. The crash occurred on the bend of River Street between Cleveland and Pomeroy Streets.
As a result, River Street was temporarily closed for about an hour while emergency crews were on scene. Contri says TLC and Cortland Fire evaluated those involved on scene, but none were taken to hospital.
A preliminary investigation indicates due to the slippery road conditions, a crossover vehicle slid out of their lane of travel on River Street and into the school bus. Minor damage to both vehicles was reported.
River Street was reopened following Cortland Fire clearing the scene around 9 a.m. Also on scene assisting was Cortland Police.
