On Wednesday, April 26th around 1pm, the City of Cortland Police Department arrested 46 year old Brian J. McLean of Schenectady NY for Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree, a Misdemeanor.
An investigation conducted by officials found that McLean, who was employed as an agent for the New York State Liquor Authority, had called the Stone Lounge and warned an employee of a scheduled underage drinking operation. That operation was scheduled for October 19th, 2022 around 10pm at the Stone Lounge.
During the operation though on October 19th, police found out of 90 people inside the bar, only 13 were over the age of 21. The remaining number of patrons (77) were below the age of 21 and/or in possession of fake IDs or using someone else’s ID.
The State Liquor Authority would then issue a suspension of the liquor license to Fuller’s Tavern of Cortland, Inc. otherwise known as The Stone Lounge on October 26th.
Brian J. McLean was processed and arraigned in Cortland City Court and is expected to reappear in court on May 17th.
