For the second year, Saluting Branches will visit and conduct work at Cortland Rural Cemetery. The organization will visit on Wednesday, September 20th beginning at 8am to late afternoon.

Saluting Branches, along with 17 volunteers from area tree-services business, will converge on the grounds with chainsaws, reach trucks, and cranes in removing dead or dangerous trees and trimming others. The work is done to maintain the cemetery and honor all of the deceased veterans interred on the grounds.

“We developed Saluting Branches as a green industry project to honor veterans and improve the environment through the science of tree care,” said Brian Bruce, Saluting Branches president. “This is an important event for the arborist community and allows us to give back to those who have served us.”

The organization is a nonprofit and will mark its ninth-annual day of service on Wednesday with the largest volunteer event in the tree care industry. Saluting Branches is dedicated to recognizing and honoring veterans who have served.
