Sales Tax Collections Up 2.1% For Cortland County in Month of October
New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s Office says overall, sales tax collections for New York State were up 2.3% for the month of October compared to the same month last year. New York State reported local sales tax collections were $1.84 billion dollars, an increase of $41 million.
“October growth in statewide sales tax collections was led by New York City, buoying monthly performance after virtually flat statewide growth in September,” DiNapoli said. “Recent volatility in sales tax collections warrants caution for local governments as they finalize their budgets for next year.”
