Rollover on Route 41 in Homer Sends One Person to Hospital

Around 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Homer Fire says they were dispatched, along with TLC Ambulance and State Police, to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 41 in the Village of Homer. The rollover occurred just west of Suits Ave in the Village with the driver of the vehicle entrapped.

Homer Fire says the driver of the vehicle was extricated from the vehicle within 10 minutes. The driver was transported via TLC to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center for further treatment. Route 41 was briefly closed from Route 281 and Brake Hill Road while crews worked to clear the scene.

State Police tell X101 News the driver, 49 year old Stacy Renee Lindsay of Homer, was driving a Honda SUV westbound on Route 41 when she went off the roadway and struck an embankment causing the vehicle to roll onto its side. Police say poor road conditions due to weather and an unsafe speed were the cause of the crash.

In total, State Police say Troopers in Troop C responded to 48 crashes and disabled vehicles during Sunday’s snowstorm.
