Around 4:15 yesterday afternoon, a call came into 9-1-1 dispatch of a single vehicle rollover on I81 South just before the Exit 12 offramp (Homer).
As emergency responders arrived, they found two occupants trapped in a vehicle that was upside down in the median of the highway with one of the occupants unresponsive to emergency personnel.
A helicopter was immediately requested to land in a nearby field off of the exit 12 connector, but was later called off as first responders reported to dispatch that both occupants were now responsive.
Both patients from the vehicle had to be extricated from the vehicle and were out in less than 20 minutes and were taken to Upstate University Hospital.
Cortlandville Fire, TLC and Tully Ambulance, and New York State Police assisted the Homer Fire Department.
