The Who may be taking a break from the road, but not Roger Daltrey. He closed out the year with some solo shows and will continue this year. An official announcement on The Who’s website stated, “We are currently finalizing the complete set of dates and will let you know once they are ready to be announced.” Only one date has been mentioned so far and that will be March 13 at the Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton, California.
One dollar from every ticket sold at the March 13 show will go to Teen Cancer America, the charity organization that Daltrey and Pete Townshend created to support the building of special recreational areas tailored for young people with cancer.
Daltrey’s solo shows have him performing alongside members of The Who’s touring band, including, Pete Townsend’s brother, Simon Townshend.
As for Pete Townshend’s schedule for this year, he’s taking a yearlong hiatus from The Who.
Roger Daltrey’s fall concerts included songs by the Who that the band doesn’t often perform live.
