Rod Stewart & Cyndi Lauper Set For Joint Summer Run

Music News

Following up on their massively successful 2017 summer trek, Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper will team up again this summer for an 22-city North American trek. Rod and Lauper kick things off on June 25th at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and wrap the five-week arena and shed tour up on September 1st at Seattle’s White River Amphitheater.

Rod Stewart told us that although his recent American Songbook albums ended up selling sold incredibly well, these days, getting substantial radio airplay for new material borders on the impossible: “You’re running up against, y’know, the airplay situation. They don’t seem to want to play anybody that’s over 35 anymore, y’know, and even over 30. I’m not complaining. Y’know, I think we’ve had a really good run at it — the people that came along in the early-’70s and are still here, like Elton (John) and myself — and I don’t think anybody can complain if they’re playing other people on the radio.”
