The Cortland County Highway Department has announced road work will begin tomorrow, August 24th on Telephone Rd. between Route 41 and Doran Hill Rd. County highway crews will begin to replace dozens of culvert pipes.
Road closures will occur daily from 7am to 3:30pm. County highway officials expect the work to take about 4 weeks to complete and work will begin at the Route 41 end of Telephone Rd.
Tomorrow’s closure will be between Route 41 and Kiwanis Rd. The road work is a preparation of a 2023 resurfacing project for the road. Road closures will be weather permitting and the highway department notes the road may not be closed every single week day.
Signage will be in place for motorists in the location of the closure each day. The highway department recommends using Route 41 as an alternate route until work is completed.
