Ringo Starr & His All Star Band To Perform At The Lakeview Amphitheater

Music News

Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band have announced the first 20 dates of its 2016 summer tour. The latest lineup of All Starrs, which has lasted over three years, features Todd Rundgren on guitar, Mr. Mister’s Richard Page on bass, drummer Gregg Bissonette, Santana and Journey co-founding keyboardist Gregg Rolie, Toto’s co-founding guitarist Steve Lukather, and saxophonist, keyboardist, and percussionist Warren Ham.

The tour kicks off on June 3rd in Syracuse, New York at Lakeview Ampitheater and, as of now, winds down with a customary closing night show on July 2nd at L.A,’s Greek Theatre. Additional dates — both domestically and overseas are expected to be announced soon.

We caught up with Ringo prior to launching the last string of All Starr summer shows and asked him if he’s getting excited to spend another season onstage criss-crossing North America: “Yeah, I’m looking forward to it. It’s exciting. Every time I put the All Starr’s together, we end up in a room in some country — we like to call it ‘rehearsals’ and, we all know what we’re supposed to do, we get on with it, and we have a lot of fun. That’s the only rule I have; do you wanna have fun in the summer? Then let’s go. I’m not here to be tortured.”
