Yesterday (September 10) was the grand opening of the new St. John’s Community Center on West State Street in Ithaca, made official at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the city council and Ithaca Police Department.
The Center will now provide emergency housing to homeless individuals and families, while also serving as a food pantry that offers emergency food service to those in need.
In attendance at the event were Ithaca City Councilmembers Cynthia Brock and Ducson Nguyen, along with Ithaca Police Officers Dan Bechtold and Ryan Card.
They were joined by staff and supporters of the new center, along with other members of the community.
