Residents of both Homer and Cortland School Districts have big votes today

A reminder for Homer School District residents of the vote today on a $24 million Capital Improvement Project.




The district promises “no additional tax impact” using state building aid, managing the debt payments and by using existing capital reserve funds. The project funds a long list of improvements such as safety and security, windows, boilers, restrooms, roofs, parking lots, fire alarms accessibility and redesign of bus and parent drop off loops. Voting is noon to 7 at the Homer Training and Education Center.

Homer Schools meeting tonight on capital improvement plan


Another vote today – this one in the Cortland School District on a proposal to sell the former Virgil school to a local developer to convert the space to housing.

Most district residents will vote at the Kaufman Center on Valley View Drive. Virgil residents can vote at the Town Hall. Hours are noon until 9 pm. The Board of Education does meet tonight.
