Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were told that a man from Cortland was threatening an acquaintance by telephone Friday night.
Deputies went to the home of Harlan Ward, 53, at 10:40 pm, and arrested him on charges of aggravated harassment.
According to information provided by the Cortland County Sheriff’s office, Ward was arraigned in Town of Cortlandville Court and released until a future court appearance.
However, Cortland County Sheriff’s deputies provided additional information showing that Ward was arrested again Sunday night.
Ward was charged with felony criminal contempt, harassment, and possession of a weapon.
Deputies say Ward violated an order of protection by calling and threatening the person.
County police officers returned to his home for the arrest and found the weapon, which was not used in the harassment.
Ward was sent to the Cortland County Jail awaiting bail.
