Republican Congressman Richard Hanna has joined the chorus of condemnation denouncing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for suggesting Muslims should be banned from traveling to the United States.
Hanna, who is seeking a fourth term, says Trump’s proposal does not represent the party’s ideals.
He added, “Such a divisive suggestion has no place in our national dialogue.”
Trump’s has called for a “total and complete” ban on Muslims entering the United States.
Hanna voted in favor of a bill to tighten controls on travel to the U.S. and require visas for anyone who’s been in Iraq or Syria in the previous five years.
