Rep. Molinaro Announces Village of Marathon to Receive $1.25 Million For Wastewater Treatment Plant and Pump Station Improvements
Congressman Marc Molinaro (NY-19) has announced he has secured $32.2 million dollars in federal funding for community projects within the 19th Congressional District with $1.25 million going towards the Village of Marathon.
“After bringing millions of federal funds back to Upstate New York through the 2024 appropriations bills, I’m proud to have successfully fought for another $32 million for our communities. These funds will address water quality issues, support our first responders, improve infrastructure, and make our communities more accessible for individuals with disabilities.”
Molinaro said in a release.
The funding for Marathon will go towards the wastewater treatment plant and pump station improvement project. According to the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the facility was last upgraded back in 2006 and is now operating beyond its design life.
Marathon looks to upgrade the wastewater treatment plant and the three sanitary sewer pump stations on Cortland Street, Brink Street, and Mill Street. Work would also rehabilitate the sanitary sewer collection system.
