Homer Business Association hosted its annual members dinner last night, naming Renee Neiderman — owner of Bev & Co. on Main Street — as this year’s Roland “Frog” Fragnoli Awardee.
The accolade recognizes an individual for their outstanding contributions to the community.
Leading the reception was Rob Garrison, who owns the Homer Men & Boys store that Fragnoli himself opened 70 years ago in 2021.
“Renee is heavily involved with not only HBA, but also the Rotary Club, ZONTA, and the Womens’ Presidents Organization out of Syracuse,” said Garrison. “She’s also one of the originators of starting up Magic on Main in Homer, which people look forward to every year.”
Neiderman’s mother, Beverly Lathrop, founded Bev & Co. in 1978, retiring 20 years later in 1998.
At that time, Renee took over and has since opened three other locations in Ithaca, Sackets Harbor and Skaneateles.
Her daughter, Ashley Neiderman, and daughter-in-law Amber LeFever, are involved in the daily operations of the business; while another daughter Emily, son Aaron, and husband Rick all play an important role behind the scenes.
This is the fifth year of the Fragnoli award.
