The holiday season Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high visibility enforcement campaign continues as we head into the long holiday weekend. During the campaign, area law enforcement will have additional officers on patrol looking for impaired or distracted drivers.
The campaign will continue through New Year’s Day. Motorists should see an increase in both marked and unmarked police vehicles, and DWI checkpoints. Officers will also look for distracted drivers, those not buckled up, and those who violate the state’s Move Over Law.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office also reminds residents that they can make a difference by having a sober plan to get home safely. A free app is available to download titled “Have a Plan” that will help residents find a safe ride home.
