Reminder – Route Changes Take Effect Today For Centro
Beginning today, June 30th, Centro has discontinued its service on Route 7 from Cortland to Cornell University. Centro says those still needing to get to Cornell may utilize Route 6 and transfer to TCAT Route 43 at Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3).
Centro has added they have increased their bus frequency on Route 6 to also compensate for the removal of Route 7 service to Cornell. For those headed to Cornell in the morning, Centro says they may take Route 6 at the County Office Building at 6:35am and then transfer to Route 43 on TCAT at 7am at TC3; Route 43 will arrive at Cornell at the same time as Route 7 with Centro did. For afternoon customers, they may take Route 43 near the same time as Route 7 and connect to Route 6 at TC3 at 5:15pm. Centro added there will be several opportunities to travel and connect both to and from Cornell throughout the day with connections at TC3.
In addition to the discontinuation of Route 7, Centro has also updated their stops on Route 5. Route 5 will continue to operate the same route, but will now only go as far as the Willet Town Hall. Once reaching Willet, the bus will turn around and return to Cortland.
Bus riders in Marathon will also now be able to connect to Cortland through the newly created Route 11. This new route will have stops in Cortland, Virgil, Greek Peak, and Marathon. More information and route maps may be found at Centro.org.
