Registration is now opening for the upcoming NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program on Wednesday, March 1st at 6:30pm at the Cortlandville Fire Department (3577 Terrace Rd. Cortland).
The program will help teach residents to have the tools and resources ready for any type of disaster that may hit, be able to respond appropriately and to recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. The course will give guidance for responses for disasters either man-made or natural.
Part of the course will include making sure everyone is properly prepared, this could include having a family emergency plan, and stocking up on supplies. Each family that does attend the course will receive one preparedness kit.

The event is sponsored by the Governor of NY and in conjunction with the Cortland County Department of Emergency Response and Communications.
