Reduced Plantings in NYS Forecast By USDA

USDA just surveyed farmers on their plans for the upcoming crop season.



New York growers are likely to plant 2% fewer soybeans this year.

Corn is estimated to be about 2% less. Barley – unchanged from last year, and oats, down 36% from a year ago, both continue to be at record low acreage.

Winter wheat could be down 13% and Hay down 8% compared to last year.
