The Cortland County Legislature’s Redistricting Commission resumes work this week. The Commission hopes to offer a recommendation to the full legislature within three months…preferably by the end of March.
That timeline would allow rewriting the local law with the new districts, and to hold at least two public hearings.
The Commission has already decided to only focus on options of 13-17 legislative districts. Cortland has one of the lowest ratios of legislators to residents.
The next Commission meeting is tomorrow afternoon February 23rd at 4:00PM.
