Red Cross seeking nominations to honor local Heroes
Local News January 18, 2021The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross WNY Region is accepting nominations for its 12th annual Real Heroes event.
Residents are encouraged to nominate local heroes from across their home counties of Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Sullivan, Tioga and Tompkins.
Typically, a breakfast is held in honor of these special individuals.
This year’s ceremony will be virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, planned for Wednesday, May 19.
Proceeds will support Red Cross programs and services.

- Animal Rescue
- Blood Donor/Services
- Education
- Fire Rescue
- Good Neighbor
- Good Samaritan Adult
- Good Samaritan Youth
- Law Enforcement
- Lifeline
- Medical
- Military Workplace Safety
