Recent Family Medical Situation Places NY Senator Webb’s Home into Foreclosure Proceedings

New York State Senator Lea Webb is facing foreclosure on her Johnson City Home, according to court documents from the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of New York. The complaint was filed by the PHH Mortgage Corporation based in New Jersey. The suit was originally filed back on October 21st, 2025.

According to the complaint filed by representatives of PHH Mortgage Corporation, Robertson, Anschutz, Schneid, Crane & Partners, PLLC, Webb has failed to make her monthly mortgage payment of $2,287 since May 1st of this year. Documents show Webb purchased the home in Johnson City in December of 2024 and was provided a mortgage loan of $373,117, plus interest.

Senator Webb told X101 in a statement that within the previous months, her family and herself included have faced “difficult family circumstances.” She continued on to add some of the significant challenges she has faced included a family medical situation.

“Over the past few months, my family and I have faced significant challenges, including a family medical situation that has been both emotionally and financially difficult. We all recognize that the affordability crisis is real and affects far too many working families. I am actively working on the matter and it is in process of being resolved.” Webb said in a statement to X101 News.

Benji Federman, Chairman of the Broome County Republicans, who issued a press release with court proceedings documents, said “”New York is the most expensive state in the nation to do business, own a home and pay your bills because Lea Webb legislates in Albany. We’re at a breaking point – Senator Lea Webb can’t afford her own policies.”

As a New York State Senator, Webb earns $142,000 plus per-diem.
