The Cortland County Soil and Water Conservation District has announced they will be hosting a presentation on a recently drafted Community Forest Management Plan (CFMP) for the forested areas located at Dwyer Park in Preble.

The presentation is open to the public and will take place on March 28th at 5pm in the NYS Grange Auditorium. The Water Conservation District will provide an overview of the project and an LBS Ecological consultant for the project.

The consultant will review the results of the forest inventory and recommendations for then managing the forest resource in Dwyer Park. LBS will then discuss the management units identified for the property, their compositions, the ecosystems analysis results, and then maintenance recommendations for trimming and pruning, removal, invasive species management, and plantings.

Once the presentation is complete, the public is invited to provide feedback or ask questions regarding the findings. Additional information can be given by contacting the Cortland County Soil and Water Conservation District at 607-756-5991.
