A public hearing will take place tonight before the Common Council meeting at 6pm at City Hall in the City of Cortland for the application for a Restore NY Grant on the former Parker School building.
The old Parker School building looks to be getting another chance at a new life after earlier this year plans to renovate the building by the YWCA and CAPCO were ended after costs to renovate the building increased by nearly $3.6 million dollars.
The city looks to facilitate the renovation and reuse of the historic building, named after Alton B. Parker, for residential usage. The grant the city looks to apply for is a grant that provides municipalities with financial support for a revitalization of a commercial or residential property that is no longer in use.
