Public Hearing Date Set For City of Cortland’s ‘25 Budget

During Tuesday’s City of Cortland Common Council meeting, the council voted unanimously to file the proposed 2025 city budget and set a public hearing date of Tuesday, November 19th at 6pm. The public hearing will be held at City Hall at 25 Court Street in the City of Cortland on the third floor.

The Common Council looks to adopt the 2025 City Budget during the following Common Council meeting on December 3rd. Tuesday’s meeting the Common Council also voted unanimously to set a public hearing on a proposed law to authorize overriding the tax levy limit. The vote was done as a precautionary measure as the 2025 City Budget currently has a tax levy that is less than the levy limit. That public hearing will also be on November 19th.
