Price Chopper & Market 32 Begin Holiday Drive to Support Local Food Pantries
Price Chopper & Market 32 grocery stores have begun their annual holiday drive that will go towards supporting local food pantries. From now through January 5th, customers may purchase a $10 pre-packed bag containing food items. The bags will go to local food pantries.
For the Cortlandville Price Chopper, two local organizations will receive the donations, Catholic Charities of Cortland County and the Groton Food Pantry. The bags will contain PICS brand items that are considered the most in need. Those include elbow macaroni, peanut butter, chicken noodle soup, cans of tuna fish, kidney beans, and chunk chicken.
“At a time when most of us are celebrating and enjoying an abundance of food choices, the number of people experiencing nutrition insecurity is increasing, and local food pantries continue to provide assistance at record-breaking service levels,”
said Pam Cerrone, Market 32/Price Chopper director of community relations.
Customers may find the bags for sale at the front of each store and may purchase during check-out.
