This afternoon (May 28th) around 1:30 Cortland City Firefighters responded to a report of a pickup truck that had crashed into a telephone pole near the intersection of Tompkins Street and York Street in Cortland.
Firefighters found the vehicle under the telephone pole snapped in three places with wires down.
National Grid says nearly 3,000 customers lost power for an hour and a half before most areas got power back.
No reports of any major injuries.
Cortland Fire Chief Wayne Friedman says the street is still closed as crews clean up the scene. National Grid is replacing the telephone pole.
No word on what caused this accident.
