The US National Weather Service in Binghamton is predicting a possible heavy snow accumulation storm for Saturday (March 12).
With quiet weather today (March 11th) and temperatures in the 40s to even lower 50s things will begin to pick up into late afternoon/evening. Rain is expected briefly in the overnight before changing over to snowfall (being heavy at times) with areas of blowing snow throughout Saturday.
Snowfall is expected to wind down towards Saturday night with lake effect snow in some areas.
Cortland County could see snowfall amounts up to 10 inches in total.
Cortland, and surrounding counties are currently in a Winter Storm Warning until 7pm Saturday.
