The National Weather Service in Binghamton is predicting a potential of heavy downpours of rain today through Saturday.
For today (Friday) heavy rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and into the evening. The main threat being damaging winds, and heavy rain, which can lead to localized flooding.
Saturday the severe threat will be diminished, but isolated heavy showers are possible with the risk of flooding.
However, on Sunday and Memorial day a high pressure system will bring in warm and dry conditions throughout Central New York.
