A potential drowning is under investigation after a 58-year-old male was found unconscious yesterday near the Ithaca Farmers Market on Third Street.
IPD officers responded just before 5 am and say two bystanders were already trying to help by holding the man above water off the edge of a dock.
One officer then jumped in the water and helped pull the man out with assistance from Bangs ambulance personnel.
The man was then brought to a nearby hospital, where he’s currently listed as being in critical condition.
Anyone with information on the incident should call the Ithaca Police Department at 607-272-9973.
