Republican Claudia Tenney continues to hold a small lead over Democrat Kim Myers as independent candidate Martin Babinec drops to a distant third place in the race for Congress, 22nd District.
Siena College pollster Steve Greenberg shares results of a new poll for Time Warner Cable News among likely voters in the District, where Tenney leads Myers 38%-34%.
Babinec’s support has fallen to 16%, from 24%. Greenberg observes that “Babinec appears to be hurting Tenney more than he hurts Myers.”
Breaking out Cortland/Madison/Chenango County results, voters favor Tenney 38%, Myers 36%, and Babinec 12%, with 14% saying they are undecided.
Siena shows Donald Trump’s lead over Hillary Clinton up to 46%-32% among likely voters in the 22nd Congressional District.
The Siena survey also found Senator Chuck Schumer with a large lead over Republican challenger Wendy Long, 57%-34% in our Congressional district.
